Carrol Kay is a juried weaver and bead artist who
draws on a lifetime of fiber arts experience to create
her Knot By Chance Wearable Art.
She began learning the many facets of sewing and
the fiber arts from her grandmothers
as a young girl,
and continued her study through workshops and sem-
inars throughout her early adult years.
Carrol
has been weaving for over thirty years, and
began interlacing handweaving, beading and
embellishment techniques in the
early 1990s
while she and Ron were Bed & Breakfast Innkeepers.
Since selling their B&B in 2002,
Carrol has been
able to devote herself fulltime to her passion for fibers
and cloth in her lakeview home studio,
which includes
four looms, a full complement of weaving accessories,
and a sewing / craft room for her final garment
finish-
ing, beading and polymer clay work.
Believing intrinsically in the purity of individually
hand-
crafted items, Carrol creates almost everything in her
Wearable Art, including the decorative pins, closures
and beading accents.
